The system must be new, current-generation equipment and software. Used or refurbished equipment is NOT acceptable. All components must be OEM manufactured or authorized. System must include OEM warranty beginning at contract award. OEM service must be available and performed by OEM technicians. The system must provide end-to-end automated specimen tracking and chain-of-custody visibility from collection through laboratory receipt. It must use barcode-based specimen identification, support rack-based specimen association, and bulk receipt of multiple specimens simultaneously. The system must display specimen status without removing tubes from racks, provide specimen search capability by ID, allow reassignment of specimen positions without rescanning, and provide confirmation alerts for successful specimen entry. It must support collection workflow that does not require manual login steps and must support badge authentication. Collection units must support a minimum capacity of 120 specimen tubes. The system must record transport temperature and impact events and automatically upload environmental data upon arrival. It must integrate with VA laboratory systems using HL7 or ASTM protocols and support wired or wireless connectivity. The system must fit standard clinical workspace surfaces and be cleanable for clinical environments. It must include all accessories required for operation and be fully supported by the original manufacturers including parts, firmware, and updates.
